i just found this counter in my box of old cb toys.it has mhz and khz switch. the only number i can find is jb 1004. it showes the right freq on all channels. when you dead key. when you modulate it goes crazy.is this normal. thanks.

That is normal for a freq counter that hooks up with coax connectors.

yes when you modulate it will jump around.
