Is there a way to weather proof mobile antenna connections, such as the coax to the so239 bottom side of the mirror mount and the so239 to the antenna on the top side of the mirror mount? Would a high temp silicone do the trick or maybe some heat shrink? Come guys give me some advice, any and all will be greatly appreciated!

I've used dielectric grease in the past with success. Some base antennas come with a small tube of it to put on the threads of the so239.

Radio Shack use to have somthing called Coax Seal. It was a black sticky tar like tape that you could shape with your fingers and press it tigbtly around the coax ends and connections. Worked real well, I have used this in the past with success.

Coax seal, great stuff as well. Heres a hint, wrap electrical tape with the stucky side out then wrap the joint with coax seal. That way if you have to ever take the joint apart its easy and clean once the caox seal is off.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
