I just went and took my Tech and General tests today. I passed both of them. Now I just need to get my code out of the way and fast, so I can talk on my TS 140 on the HF bands. I don't have any VHF equipment so I need to get my code done ASAP. Anyone know of software or other learning aids so I can do this in like 3-4 weeks.

Thanks Main, that is a really cool program. You can set the speed and a lot of other options. Take care my friend.

Congratulations my friend on passing the test.

I am sure you will have that code down in short order.

I am studying hard on the code myself. I am in the same

boat as you on not having any radios to work repeaters and

such with.....

Really don't see much reason to get one since I already have

a cell phone <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

See you soon on the HF where the real radios are still.....

Best Regards,

John

You'll be wishing you had a vhf rig when the hf bands get pretty quiet with the cycle going down. Besides your missing all the local rag chewing.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/happy.gif ALT=":D"> Alot of repeaters where I'm at. I have 43 repeaters saved into my Icom 207.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)"> Anyway congrats fasteddy on passing your tests. You have one year to pass you code before you have to take the general written test all over again. So you have awhile before that happens. I'm now studying for my general written exam and plan to take it in June. I've stayed a tech for a year now just to play around with the 50mhz and above frequencys. Freebanding for a couple of years burned me out on the long range dxing. But now I'm ready to get back into it and start saving up for a Kenwood TS-2000 to get on all those other hf frequencys. Anyway good luck on your code.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">
