Thanks to what I've learned here and elsewhere on the net , and from a few books I've read, I decided that best one radio for me and my needs was a Grundig satellit 800 port-a-top radio.

So I bought one.

Now I know to some here that is radio heresy but from what I've come to understand is the new radio designs/circuitry can at least match many of the older table top radios in function and reach.

Thank you all for answering my newbie questions. It did help me. (y)

Incoming Region Produces X3 Solar Flare
    May 15, 2024 @ 14:55 UTC
Another major solar flare, but this time from an active region just beginning to turn into view off the east limb. It is possible that the group responsible is old AR 3654 from the previous rotation. The latest flare, an X2.99 event just peaked at 14:38 UTC (May 15). Stay tuned
