Well my Stryker 955 let out smoke..

Can you pop the cover and give us a quick look? I presume it was the finals? I heard about them having problems years ago when they first came out. I hope it doesn't take too much to get it taken care of.

Well it has the seals from bobs cb shop so it is going back to them for repair..

Sorry to hear that undertaker. Even though Bob's is not taking mail in repair work right now they will service radio's they sold new. Best bet is to keep the sticker in tact.

My friend sends all his radios to Bobs CB in PA. And they all eventually let out the smoke.

Bob's has been so busy they have not accepted mail in repair work for several years now. Did your friend buy the radio from Bob's new? That's the only way they will take a mail in repair. Bob's has always done great tech work, I wonder what your friend is doing wrong that he keeps breaking things if what you said is even true.

The radios came back putting out unreal power. Like 60 w on a 3900 with 1969 finals.

Well, it is a somewhat easy repair.
There were some issues a while back with some of the FQP 13N10's. I had some pop (and I do mean "POP") in my Stryker 955 twice in six months.
None have died in the last 2 1/2 years. I get mine from Mouser ......
Replace all four with same, or with IRF 520's, set bias correctly, and good to go.
