What is the best way to align (or check the alignment) of a FC390 or FC357 ?

I have heard a few different ways.... service manual says to hook it up to a known good radio and just adjust it to read correctly...

I have thought of maybe playing a tone (or even music) through one radio and tuning it in on a radio you trust... but again that would not be a perfect alignment... basically ear tune it

any better ideas?

Need a signal generator and a known accurate bench frequency counter. Whatever the bench freq counter reads; the other counter should read too. Dunno where the adjustment points are in those things; but that is how I would do it.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
