Yep I hate the look of the open coil. The SK has a cover over the coil and even so the coil is smaller.Interesting... someone who uses a High Sierra Sidekick is calling a Predator 10-K ugly.

I love my 10-K. I don't mind the looks of it, but I get really tired of people looking at me like I'm a Russian Communist!!! Ha ha!! For that reason plus people asking questions and my worried of getting it stolen I find myself running my Wilson Silver Load FGT most of the time.
I hear ya loud and clear on that. It definitely gets the attention. That part I don't like, but I do like how it performs, and the last time I checked I ain't in no antenna beauty contest. It works and works well. :bdh:
More than once I have had someone pull next to me and ask where I got the antenna. I always tell them the Flying J on 80 and 39.
You both are correct though it's not a beauty contest, use what works. I have just never like the looks of those type of antennas. It's the same as a bug catcher, I hate the looks of that as well no matter how well it performs.
