What size amp ?

Least amount of power is 10 watts from the FT 2000 - D, up to 1000 watts from the refurbished Heathkit SB-1000.
Both the 10 and 1000 watts were needed to make a reliable QSO depending on the conditions and band used.
Worked Japan from the Netherlands on 10/12 with 10 watts and got 5/9++...
Worked Brazil on 160 meters in phone with 800 watts and got 4/7....
As most above said, first antenna, and feedlines then operating practice and with 100 watts you will do fine.
My amp has not been from 160 meters in 2 years, for the other bands including our new 60 meter band ( 5350 - 5450) the 10 - 225 watts from the FT 2000 - D was more then enough.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
