Whats the best 40 channel handheld radio......

For about $150 for a pair. Want them to last a long time on batteries....maybe rechargable? Also, can you tune them or modify them like a normal cb? I will use them for hunting but its on a 1200 acre ( bottomland) ranch. I want to reach a pretty good ways. Am I just wishing or is there something that fits this criteria?
