Where to get a big corona ball?

I just intalled a nice new mobile antenna, but the whip isn't fitted with a corona ball. Does anyone know where to get some nice big round corona balls that can be soldered on the end of the whip? I've looked around and can't find 'em.

Try an old copper float from an old toilet tank. That should be big enough for you.It may look crappy but it will work.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

QRN,

If you frequent hamfests, you can browse the fleamarket where you find vendors with those little red and yellow boxes of parts--particularly antenna parts.

Here is a solution I have used. Go to your local fishin' tackle store. Get one of those lead weights (balls) about 1/8" or 1/4" in dia. and drill the center just big enough to fit the whip. Coat the whip with JB Weld and slide the lead ball over the end of the whip. Let set until dry. I have one now with a small fishin' lead ball now.
