I have a Cobra 29 WXNWST, and wonder which mods would be best suited for gaining power, but not sacrificing audio Quality. am not against amps, or removing functions either.

Have read that removing soundtracker might help, so thought about turning that button in to a roger beep.

What are my best bets? I have read through all the posts I could find, but it seems all of them are just about power and not quality so thought I* woulkd ask specifically.

Help a semi newby out.

To be honest for audio quality, a basic tune and a good mic is really all you need. By a "basic tune", try adjusting VR4 for full modulation on your meter to start with. Couple that with a decent mic and see what you think. People spend a lot of money and time trying to get extra power and modulation that really isn't necessary when it boils right down to it.

I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
