I have a galaxy 99 running into a midnight special 700. The radio swings to 10watts on both am and ssb. But, I see almost double the output wattage on ssb. Why is this.

I would say it's in your watt meter, you must have a non peak reading meter. If your Galaxy 99 is actually only doing 10 watts peak you need to send it in for repair.
