So, I've been having a problem with random SWR spikes and a loss of receive after keying (with or w/o amp). I've been chasing grounds, reflowing coax solder, Checked continuity with a Fluke 87V using Nanosiemens (nS), rechecked antenna tune at least 5 times....everything was well within acceptable tolerances. Well, the other day I was washing my truck and bumped the antenna and heard a little rattle, pulled the whip over and found I could actually pull the the tip off. We'll, grabbed some lug crimpers and snugged it back on. Have not had a single issue since, don't really "get it" but I'm not going to complain. Amazing what a little piece of loose brass can do....maybe?
