The comments on that are more entertaining than the article itself. It's funny the storm that article triggered.
I missed those, Dan. Went back and read them. Hilarious. And typical of discussions combining ham/CB. Sadly.
Definitely some sad truth there. Way too polarized. The guy is obviously wedded to the antennas on one hand, but not deserving of criticism of his enthusiasm on the other.
The question might be better phrased as,
“Who are your friends?”
If the sun doesn’t come out, it ain’t the political or corporate backstabbers.
It SURE ain’t those can’t support themselves when things are good.
It WILL be those looking for practical advice on obtaining or maintaining communications. Local or regional.
Where are the experiments or projects? A fleet tractor would be a good start. A condo or apartment would be another. Difficult.
Make whatever list wanted.
Working guidelines.
Just don’t wind up like those walking embarrassments at the VFW or American Legion when it came time to defend the finest American to ever graduate West Point.
These are pretty well the same guys can’t figure out how to use Radio to hold a meeting of Amateurs where those goods can be traded.
I’m not going to hold my breath awaiting a change of heart.
