Wilson roof mount will not tune!!!

i have a little wil put the whip where i don't need to use a SWR meter
i put it where it's on the bottom on the inside of the base
didn't have to move the whip up or down like your suppose to
some times i will skip i'd hear people from cali or arizona

You sure about that? You wouldn't even want to check to be sure?

I love it when people use hearing skip to justify a lack of simple checking.

Now it is possible you got it pretuned. The last few Wilsons I looked at were very close to a perfect tune out of the box. I would still check the tune on it because until you do you don't really know. And hearing skip is not an excuse to neglect this as if conditions are right it doesn't take much to hear skip...

That being said, it is your radio and setup so do what you want.

it is always a good idea to check your swr with an external meter. i am sure that you are not in the habbit of wasting your money,

i agree with DB on this one.
