Well I finally found the Wilson 2000 antenna or any Wilson antenna trucker with the base shaft longer than 10". I am replacing the cheap Barjan oil coil with a 5" shaft. I needed 17" to get the coil above the roof of the Tacoma as it is mounted to my Gull wing diamond plate aluminum tool box behind the rear cab window. This should be quite a bit better receive and transmit and I am going to ground strap the antenna mount also. I am going to see if I have a pic of my current set up. Any idea's comments welcome and yes it is mounted on the driver's side which will and does make it directional. If possible I am going to centrally mount it later.
