Having said that, they are pushing 45 years old and even though only the best available components were used in them, the E Caps should be replaced. It is a PITA because they use a double sided circuit board, but use some quality low ESR caps (Panasonic, Nichicon, etc.) and the radio will still be working 40 years from now.

I too have heard they are the best of the best. I'm sure I will enjoy them and keep them going by changing the E Caps....Thanks again for all the info...

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
