Is it ok to leave the HT in it's charger after the green light comes on? I'm assuming once that happens, it is trickle charging and it's probably safe to leave it in the cradle 24x7 until it's needed?

All my HTs spend most of their time sitting in their chargers. It shouldn't cause any problems at all. With most LiIon batteries it's good to completely discharge and recharge them from time to time though, so once in awhile leave it on until the battery dies.
