wouxun KG-UV2D question

I was wondering if the wouxun KG-UV2D can be programmed using the cable and software that comes with the KG-UVD1P?? I had the kg-uvd1p before, but sold it to a friend that just got into ham radio, and now looking to get another Ht. Was wondering if there was really much difference between the two radios. Thanks

FWIW - I checked their website and KG-UV2D Specifications is listed as "KG-UVD1P and KG-UV2D Specifications" on that internal webpage description.

I also found a ARRL Product Review ( ARRL - Wouxun KG-UV2D and KG-UVD1P Dual Band Handheld Transceivers (PDF File) ) showing the only difference is the KG-UV2D can handle 146/440 or 146/222 MHz while the KG-UVD1P can only handle the 146/440 MHz. It also shows the USB programming cable working on both. So, I would think the software will work just fine.

Not quite. I own a KG-UVD1P which operates 2M/220. Two versions of that rig - 2M/220 or 2M/70cm.
