i have a bad resistor and was wondering if I need to use the original type film or can I use a metal oxide?

Generally it's good practice to use what the builder specifies. For RF equipment, the big problem is with wirewound resistors which can add a lot of inductive reactance where it's not needed nor wanted. For low-power resistors (half-watt or so) it's probably okay to substitute metal oxide for film without any problems.

Ya that’s what I figured I’m just going to order the Film Resistors, if memory serves me correct they are more accurate and are better suited for RF environments.

It’s a 1.5M 2 watt. At least that’s what the manual and schematic says it is as it’s cracked and I can’t read it. I’m having a hard time finding one. I’m going by the parts list in the manual that refers to it as M not m if that makes sense.

The only resistor that value in an amp of this nature is most likely in the Voltmeter circuit for the plate voltage.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
