Yaesu FT-100 VS. 100d

The FT100D is an updated version of the original FT100 that includes the following changes: It has a larger built-in speaker,a high stability crystal oscillator,a 500 Hz CW filter, and a CTCSS decoder. All of these features except the speaker were previously available as field-updateable accessories to the FT100.

Even though their cool radios and sometimes get crazy prices on Ebay....

I consider them ticking time bombs and will not pay over 3 bills for one.

why do you consider it a ticking time bomb?
and iv hear even tho the number read out on RX is about 900mhz it stops Audio receiving after 500mhz. silly.
is the receiver continuous ? 0.1-76, 108-174 and 420-512 MHz or is there gaps?

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
