When using an external tuner, you can hold the PTT switch and quickly press and release the channel up button to throw a 10 watt carrier. The rig will continue doing so until you release the PTT.
There are two menu items that must be set to enable this feature. I've attached a SS, which describes the procedure. I remember this feature when I got my first 891, but forgot all about it until I read about it today.
Anyways, I imagine most owners already know this. I just posted in case a new owner was unaware. I think it's a nice feature.
