Can the Ft-990 be opened to transmit on 60 meters?

yes... should be able to find a general TX mod... it was STUPID easy on my FT-890... just open it up, and swish 2 solder pads together

I would imagine it's not much different on the FT990, but I do not have first hand knowledge of that model
