How do you know it is just a stingey meter and not a sign of something else wrong? What are you comparing it too? Hopefully not a CB meter as they are no where near accurate.Best be sure before making any adjustments.
Thats all been tested it was checked against a ICOM 765 its a friend of mine doing this I would just leave it alone if it were mine. Who the hell would (try) to compare an HF radio with a Glorified CB thats impossible but then again Im sure there are people who have tried LOL
Well Tony, that's exactly why I questioned the reason for it. I have heard people wanting to tweak up the S meter in their HF rig because it would not read as high as their CB when on the same freq and listening to the same station.I just cringe when I hear someone ask how to fiddle with various trim pots in HF rigs for whatever reason. If they have to ask how to do something then they should stay out of the radio's innerds.((% of the time there is nothing really wrong anyway but they just want to "improve" things a little. At least you did the right thing and compared it to a somewhat comparable quality rig.
Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
