I'm looking at it and I've downloaded the manual but I can't determine from it whether it has a built in antenna tuner. I know that it has a tuner that can be used with the optional mobile antenna but does the tuner work with any other antenna? A dipole for instance. Does anybody know one way or the other? Thanks in advance.

Built in tuner? LOL WHERE? There is no room for anything lime a tuner in the FT857. I use an FT-857 with a Yaesu FC-40 auto-tiner. It is a weather proof unit designed to be placed outdoors or indoors. It works well until I get my regular antennas up this summer. It will tune damned near anything.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
