I have a VX-5R that up until last week worked perfectly. It just started loosing recieve on the 2m band. I can pick up FM radio, 440 etc, but anything 120hz and above I can transmit on, but cant recieve. I key up on a local 2m repeater channel and I can key it up, but I dont hear anything.

Does anyone know what to do to fix this, or should I send it back to Yaesu?

Have you checked to make sure some type of TONE/DCS squelch isn't turned on? That would definitely cause the symptom you're describing.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
