Thanks Crawdad, I just got back into radio and I did nothing to mitigate noise on the radio when I temporally setup my A99 on a 10' foot pole up close to the house. That is probably a bad idea and it likely may be a big reason for some of my noise.

Roger that Marconi. It is very hard to escape now days, especially if you have neighbors. Not sure how much antenna type really matters in some situations, there a lot of generators all around us. Best of luck.
