Yuris/YL2GM is QRV from Marion Island. This Island group is #5 on Club Logs Most Wanted list from North America.
Marion Island is about 1,000 miles south of Cape Town South Africa. About half way between Antarctica and the southern tip of Africa.
Marion Island is owned by South Africa. It’s the peak of a volcano, which last erupted in 2004. It measures about 10 miles wide by 15 miles long.
Yuris is on Marion island as radio engineer and member of South African National Antarctic Programme (SANAP) station communication equipment maintenance team. He arrived with this year’s annual supply replenishment ship (mv S.A. Agulhas II). He will operate in his spare time.
Original plans were to be QRV from April 21 to May 16. However the ship was delayed leaving Cape Town and he arrived on April 27. It is unknown at this time when he will be QRT.

So far Yuris has only operated FT8. I'm not sure if he is planning on operating any other modes or what bands he intends to operate. I would like to work him on CW. I was able to work him yesterday at 8:30z on 20m FT8.
FYI, sometimes working Antarctica is better if you point your antennas for the Long Path.
