    mobile 10 through 12 meters

Hello, is anyone aware of a mobile antenna made specifically to tune 10 and 12 meters? I can find 10 meter mobiles and 12m mobiles but haven't found one that will tune both. Maybe a motorized screw or something of that nature.

    Ham radio exam

no beef here CK I'm not grouping all old hams together as cantankerous old guys unwilling to help the new guys anymore than I would disagree with your characterization of some of the new hams. There are indeed some of us that want to learn from guys like you. I've posted to this forum several...

    Ham radio exam

great site HamTestOnline - Ham Radio Exam Courses and Practice Tests is an excellent site. I used it for about 2-3 weeks for an hour or two a day and passed my tech and general exams on the same day with a score of 100% each. Some of the older hams lament how easy it is to pass the exams now...

use of exports on 10 meters

Sorry if this has already been discussed but I was wondering if anyone knows the FCC rules in regard to use of 10 meter "export" radios by licensed HAM operators, I automatically assumed that as long as these radios were used within the proper frequency ranges and at appropriate power levels...

Duster, I'm using the cre 8900, the internal swr meter seems extremely sensitive, it spikes even when my external Astatic 600 shows swr within acceptable limits.

    help using paradynamics PDC 5

Hello, does anyone out there have experience using the Astatic paradynamics PDC 5 antenna matcher? I purchased it some time ago and don't remember if it even came with instructions but can't find them now. An internet search has been fruitless with the exception of some site that wants my...

    software defined radio

Hello all, I'm looking to add a broadband receiver to the shack and I'm quite intrigued by what I see on paper for the SDR models. It seems like you can't beat the price /performance ratio. Has anyone had any experience with any SDR brands or specific models? I've been looking at this specific...

help with programming the cre 8900

thanks your tip worked Thanks to the nice fellow who runs cb radio magazine on line I seem to have found the snag. He suggested that I manually enter the expanded frequency mode (band 2) when starting the radio, then once in this mode then connect the computer, this seems to be the step that...

help with programming the cre 8900

tvrc 18 I got the cable through the mobile radio store dd18, thanks for the tip, but if what you say is true that totally defeats the purpose of this radio as far as I'm concerned, I want to be able to use the phone portion of 10 meters which is above 28.300 and still be able to click down to...
