Motorolas quality has gone down hill! From my understanding they wont have their hands in on the ham gear anyway only the comercial stuff. As for the quality of yaesu Im ceratinly not disapointed. They are by no means built like some of my old motorolas but I dont see anything on the market that is.

Cheech nothing is built like it used to. They have to build at the level they can compete with on pricing etc. When you got ICOM and Midland/Maxon, Relm, HYT and Vertex building dirt cheap low end radios you got no choice but turn it down a notch.
