in your other thread.... (the one with the jumper cables and getting a good ground).... i can't really tell from this pic if they are just guy wires, but, if you cut to the wires to the proper length and install an isolator on the ends , then you ground problem should go away, .... tuned elevated radials:)

Interesting,,,

So you still use them as a guy line, just cut to 1/4 wave radials and use something like a ceramic insulator?

That is a good idea.

I wonder if you could use the cable to the 1/4 wave mark then use rope?

Damn I wish it wasn't 5 frickin degree in IL so I could experiment with that. :headbang

Hamer, sure you could do that.

No, this isn't my camper in the pic...I just thought it was kind've funny. I hope he's staying at that camp for at least a week. That's a lot of work for a weekend hunting trip!

Ditto.
The guys at my cabin towers are augmented with 1/4 wave guyed radials. The tops are fudged closer to other guys than I'd like, but haven't presented any problems yet.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
