There is a cobra 2000 on ebay right now, and the creep selling it is asking,,, are ya sittin down? $1499.00.

I looked into this guy last year, and it seems nothing he says is true. He keeps coming up with these supposed "NEW", Dynascans own personal radio, Trams special radio they used to see how to put the others together" type of absolute crap, says he is a Tram, Browning, and Cobra licensed dealer, and has like 2000,000 years of tech experience. He buys off of ebay cheap, cleans em up and sell em for crazy money.

How do they do it...

Or look at the seller "stacks of wax", he sells radios for rediculous prices, too.

This is from The dog on CB Radio forum. What a price difference for a decent radio.
(Maybe I should tell him he is selling his way too cheap) :D

(And I hope I am not in violation of any rules with this post, just did it to show the difference between eBay and the forums. if I am, please remove my post)

I have a 100% complete Cobra 2000 up for grabs. She's made in the Philippines. Both speakers and an amplified D-104 come with it. She was made in September 1991. She's in great all around condition, just shows the typical wear of a girl her age. All LED segments work on the channels, counter, and clock. Included is a 4 pin adapter for the mic. She walks and talks great! As you'll see in the pic she'll swing from 1 to 20 watts on AM and up to 20w also on SSB. She receives just as well. Here's the mods: the swr/cal knob has been converted to a variable power knob. It adjusts the DK from 1 watt to 16 watts (for depending on the amp you have). Either way, it still swings up to 20w as you can see on my meter. The tone knob is where your channels are. It has three positions; 40 down, regular, 40 up. No weird jumping around with this radio. Lastly, the clarifier is strapped. Here's the minor issues it has. The left meter needle is stuck. It works, but gets stuck. Needs contact cleaner. The right meter, the AM, and receive lights are out. They don't affect anything otherwise. That's it! We all know the Phillies are built the best and here's your change to have a full setup. I'm asking $325 shipped to your door. Or possible trades but I really don't know what I want in trade. I STRONGLY prefer Paypal (plus 3% paypal fee). Let the pics do the talking!

This guy is a real rip off. Don't ever even give him the time of day. All of his radios seem to be given to his shop by Browning, Cobra, of Tram as gifts for the best sales. Total Bull S----T. His shops name is Turbo Electronics. Completely bogus. He lies, steals, and cheats. Don't ask me how I know. He will rip anyone off.

Yes, the guy is really something else. He lies on all of his radios. He bought my MK III Brownings from me, and then claimed that I misrepresented the radios because two of the crystals were slightly off frequency. The radio had Just been rebuilt by Barkettes. When I called him on it, he wouldnt respond. I never heard from him again. He stole those radios from me anyway at the price he won them for!!! He claims that he IS a DEALER for EVERY top end manufacturer ever around.

That doesnt mean S@#t. Go read Radiomarts Feedback. Then google radiomart.

Ebay is SHIT, it's all in the SELLERS favor.

IMO Ebay is not worth it, the scum that scams can cause you to loose $$$ while you are trying to save a few bucks.

I've got BURNED before, never again! I buy NEW items, keep ya screwdrivers out of it!\

..and the CB hobby is the worst of the breed!

over a 1000 sales @ 100% positive feed back ...

seems the customers are happy

60+% of US citizens voted for Obama.....that sure doesn't mean they are still satisfied.
$1500 for a Cobra 2000.......I have 2 NOS 2000s and I might sell them on Ebay to buy a Z06 Vette.

I don't know how but it seems that he Chris @ Ebay Turbo Electronics) has some tricks to pull off the 100% positive feedback.
Too bad as it ruins what could be a good thing for honest people.
However, if you look at it, a whole lot of CB operators are law breakers anyway so what is to be expedcted? Its hard to find a radio that has not been hacked up in some way.
Generaly, I too like to by new whenever possible and keep it factory stock.
I wonder how many CB operators actually operate inside the FCC rules. It would probably be a pretty small club. I know I do but I also have a ham license so there is plenty of legal room to play in.
for most it seems to be a contest of who has the biggest dick.

OK, lets count em up boys...

So far turbofartelectronix claims to be a Tram dealer, a Browning dealer, a Cobra / Dynascan dealer, and now a GE radio dealer. All defunct businesses with no one to dispute the claims.

I guess that means I can call myself a Studebaker dealer, oh, and a Henderson dealer, too. hmmm? Anyone want to buy a NIB Starlight coupe?
