Delta Force SSB ?

How stable is the Delta Force on SSB? Is it like a Galaxy? A 2950? A 257? etc. I'm looking for a new toy for the tow truck(around Febuary) and want something I can read the display at an angle, STABLE SSB operation to a point....something like a 257 will work, and a good AM talker. I know they talk good on AM but my concern is SSB and the ability to read the display at a angle(on my Lincoln all I can see is the orange color). Also is the board built with SMT? I don't need BIG power out of one as most of my little amps only need about 13 watts pep to peak the output of the amp. The Magnum Delt Force is probably got the most bang for the buck, but all the the Delta's(almost all) are off freq for some reason! I like the 2950DX radio the best out of all you named, but the 257 sounds nice on SSB, for some reason, i have heard better 257 radio then Delta Forces! So "MY" advise to you is get the 2950DX, they sound GREAT! (My opinion)

Hook do the clarifier mod and it will be better. Mine was off a little, unlocked the clarifier where it's with the receive. So if you clarify someone in, it'll transmit the same. Xmit and receive are the same with the clarifier. It's a great truckers radio. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT="">

Thanks guy's! Looks like I'll have a new toy in a few weeks. I think I will do the clarifier mod as I've noticed VERY FEW radios are actually "on freq." even on the Ham bands <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/wink.gif ALT="">

Delta is a good radio , but i like the 2950DX for some reason! I hope you find what ever you are looking for, you have use to lean on if there is anything you may need to know!!

i gotta a magnum delta force it had the clarifer unlocked. i like it every bit as much
as the 2950 .expect in the mobile. i like the 2950 better in mobile. the 257 is a great
lil ssb radio but lacks on am.the delta IS better than a galaxy on ssb and as good if not better than a galaxy on am.so there right in between the rci and galaxy
