I caught a lot of bass at Lake Mead. My dad and I would go out for a weekend or more a couple times a month in Summer. Back then, I could stand on the bow of our little 14-foot Glasspar and actually TOUCH the high-water mark along the sides of the canyon.
Today, I'd have to be able to reach over a hundred feet to do the same thing. Gotta keep watering the golf courses and providing electrical power for the Strip.
When the Bureau of Reclamation decided to introduce striped bass, however, the largemouth were pretty much doomed.
