amp problem ?

My transmitt is fine but when i unkey i have little to no recieve, so i have to key the mike several times to get it back . I have tried different mikes , coaxs , looking for someone with better answers, by the way my amp is a varmint xl 250 base amp .

So some fine emery cloth for cleaning the contacts and some sort of lubricant should fix his issue? or if it's worn so bad it may need replacement?

What type of lube to you suggest? Do I need to deentergizer this machine first?

Amp. prob.

Use some Caig de-oxit- with a Qtip

DO NOT USE EMERY CLOTH-this will pit/scratch relay contacts
if anything try a crisp US dollar and run that between the contacts.

Paul K8PG Yes you will need to short out the filter caps to ground.

I'm sure that Mack wasn't talking about 180grit sandpaper, fine emery cloth would work fine.

Actually I was talking about 900 grit, the same kind they use in auto body refinishing.
