small flag on top of base antenna ?

if a base antennas vertical is both strong enough to not break or flop around in the wind with it ....... would putting a small flag on top of it hurt anything ? would it getting soaked in the rain and laying against or partly wrapped around the top few feet effect the tuning or performance enough to notice in the real world ?

Not since high school. Trendy chemical amusement aids have no place with me now.

I wouldn't put a flag up on an antenna. OK when dry; possibly mess with resonance in a big way when wet. I know some Hams disguise their 10-40m ground mount verticals as a flag pole though. HOA's can't mess with that.

Maybe you can mount the flag on a small dowel rod and attach it to the antenna so that the flag won't touch it when it's wet.
