Can someone install this for me?

LMA:lol:!!! Well as long as people keep buying his magic and believeing his hype he will do just great and be sitting on a goldmine. If I had no conscience I to would do this and surely be skipping and whitling dixie :tt1::tt2:

m42duster,

this kit is just the same old 2sc2999 receive kit that is offered all over ebay.

having a higher gain transistor does nothing and is not needed.

just put the diodes in, and if you want, you can change the SSB transistor to the 2SC1674.
not really sure how much that one helps, but it wont hurt the radio.

if you need someone to install the diodes for you, you dont need to buy the kit, just PM me; i already have plenty of these diodes.

President Grant XL/LT Deluxe "Snakenator" Receive Kit

As many of you know , there are a few ways to boost the incoming signal, generally this is done with a pre-amp style device. The drawback to a pre-amp, is that it also boosts all other noises as well. It works the same as turning up the volume on your radio, and as you can tell it does not help much if at all!

What can you do to help?

By swapping a few parts for upgraded parts you can make your radio more sensitive by boosting the incoming signal and making the radio quieter by reducing white noise on reception. With this kit, you only have to change 6 parts! The SSB is also addressed in this kit, increasing gain, while reducing white noise!

This kit installs and works with the first IF stage of the radio. Normally, the unwanted noise and signal would be boosted with a pre-amp without adequate filtering. This will not change the signal you receive on your meter but it will make a 3 s-unit signal as loud as a 4.5 s-unit signal.

Benefits:

> Improves receive capabilities!

> Reduces overall white noise on reception!

>Parts are RoHS Compliant!

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
