Motorola has released a new digital strategy document titled, "A Digital Communications Guide for Amateur Radio Operators". This document outlines the brief history of the various digital radio communications modes, including the technical merits of each. It then goes on to explain why Yaesu is supporting the C4FM (4-level FSK) mode, which is also known as APCO P-25 in the LMR and public safety market place. It shouldn't come as much of a surprise that Yaesu is supporting this standard since their parent company Motorola is a big player in the APCO P-25 market.

Two new digital radios will be introduced in early 2012: an HT and a mobile. An early image of the HT is shown in the strategy document. You can find Yaesu's digital strategy document on their website (Welcome to Yaesu.com) or attached to this post.

I wonder if Motorola had a part in that .

Motorola are a bunch of idiots.
my reasons you may ask?

1. They seem to think 800mhz should continue to be a illegal freq to listen to even tho it is OBSOLETE "4g doesnt count its not analog".
2. They have split up there company side by side.
3. There quality has become cheap.
that's my personal opinion deal with it.

Plenty of reasons to keep widespread monitoring of 800MHz communications from the public ear. Lots of police and security traffic on that band.800 MHz is FAR from obsolete. Not sure why you say Motorola wants to keep it illegal to monitor. Is it because of the widespread use of their APCO25 digital system? Hardly a case of wanting it to be kept illegal to monitor if that is the case.

2. They have split up there company side by side.

So what, a lot of companies have done the same.

3. There quality has become cheap.

Show me a company that has not done the same thing in light of cheap Chinese competition.

Those are my personal opinions so deal with them.

After much thought. I resent the previous post I made.
