is there another kind of meter out there other then the astitc, dosy, or bird meters that are reasonably priced and accurate?

i would like it to do from 0-500 watts rms and swr, modulation would be nice but i won't cry if it doesn't have that.

i just like to be different.

Sure are.
Palstar WM-150 (if you can find 1 grab it) Palstar 2000a,
If you are into kits then the tentec1225 kit. I have 1 and it reads the same as a bird.

If you can find one, a TRANSEL MARK IIA (made in the late 70s) is a good choice. Accurate, large meter face,3 power levels, SWR, headphone jack and volume control for AM. Sending unit can be removed for remote mounting. Old, but a solid meter. Just another option.

I understand LMA:lol:!! I was just razzing ya bud  Although I would like one of these meters to play with and would never need another meter again as far as the HF bands go

Sorry, just could not resist.
But seriously now just get a good hf meter. I've had two palstar's (wm-150, 2000a) and have the tentec 1225. All thre requires 12vdc to work as they are true pep reading meters. All rank up there in my books.
