Just bought a UV-3R

Hello Forum,
My wife bought us a pair of these cheap HT's.
Rx is hot and audio is LOUD.
Menu system is OK, but .....
CAN'T figure out how to switch between VFO mode and MEM mode. I have poured over the manual, but can't figure it out. Anybody figured this out ??
FM radio doesn't "freq" step correctly. Changing the menu selection doesn't do anything.
Otherwise, a nice "cheap" HT

Hold down the U/V/mode button for 2 seconds.

it's less than $10 more to get the uv-5r, which has 2m AND 440 (like the 3r), plus a key pad
