q53 galaxy 2517 why would someone cut this?


Can you fix it charie brown, might help the audio. I hate techs that do that. The limiter is there for a reason. Anyway good find, maybe look over the rest of it and make sure no coils are spread or slugs have been moved. God bless.
 
That part (Q39) is a common part found in many radios. It is a 2sc945. If you have a junker radio, you can take a 2sc945 out of that and pop it in and fix your radio in a jiffy and a half.

I'm repairing my butchered dx66 does the 2sc945 have to be a 2sc945p or will any old 2sc945 work, does the "p" designation hold any value? Old thread I know but it's relevant.
