ALM BUTTON?

Good news is... I think the OP did get a legit answer about what the ALM button is... bad news is that we're still trying to figure out what button it is and what happens when we push it. If/when we figure out where said button is at.

I have a button I have to use on the rare occasion. I haven't had to use it in quite a while however. Sometimes I forget where I keep it.
I've got one of those, my button looks more like this...

even more odd is that this rig has the mic on far right hand side of face then working left
volume then squelch in the middle then the wx/ch9 ch rotating switch then the wx/cb in-out with alm on off underneath. then the ch up/dn on buttons and also on the mic
its like its built for right hand drive!
