Galaxy 959 DX no sound

I have a 2010 959 and it had no sound coming out of the radio or PA but transmitted audio and receives well but you could not hear anything. Just for testing purpose I was using my scanner to receive sound from a base station I talk to regularly and it matched the needle for the receive. The radio guy I brought it to found a cold solder joint immediately and was talking to me with it before I got down the road two miles so if anyone has this problem also let me know and I will find out where exactly the problem was and I will post it. While it's their it is getting the works done to it can't wait to have it back.

What is voltage on pin 9 IC8?
Check Q501 also.
Most probably it have more cold solder joints to find, but you have to do that by yourself.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was the audio chip. After a little research on this forum, it seems that some of the 959's have reported audio chip failure. Since the PA function isn't working either, it may well be the cause.

I would do as Mike suggested - and see.

Probably, The radio guy is a friend and he is examining it thoroughly for anything else while doing other mods to it. The radio was given to me because of this problem and had literally no running time on it "put on the shelf" so don't know if this is highly irregular or not.
