I want to modify my IC2300 in RX mode. i want to use it from 118 and up as its frequency starts from 136.
i have read and seen between D12 & D13 to be taken out. but i want to make sure how i can modify it
so that my RX frequency starts from 118

thanks.

I don't think that radio will tune as low as 118 MHz. Every mod I have seen is for expanding the TX range to cover the same as the RX range of 136-174 MHz. I have seen nothing that mentions expanding the RX down to 118 Mhz.

i asked for it. cos i have ic2200h can starts from freq 118 as rx only. but the ic2300. doesn't. do u think its possible.

The IC-2200H and the older IC-2000H would RX down to 118 Mhz straight out of the box however the IC-2300 does not and AFAIK is not modifiable to do so. 136MHz is as low as it will go. That range from 118-136 MHz is AM mode for aircraft use and the radio must be able to RX that mode. The older IC2000 and IC-2200 would automatically switch to AM in RX mode however it appears that option is NOT available with the IC-2300.

regarding the ic2200 what is the max freq we can expand.

Hello Habboub. I think IC2300 is imposible to open 118 to 134. You can take out D13 only open TX beetwen 134 to 170 . Thanks
