I have a hard mount for 11 meters on my roof, and curious what my options are for a 2/70 antenna mount. I have 26" from the coil to the back and sides of the cab, and 31" to the windshield. Is that too tight to squeeze in a larsen 150 on the roof, or do I need to mount it behind the cab on the welding machine? I'm planning on an icom 2730a. Any thoughts?

Of course. I will probably just grab a hole saw and drill every 2 degrees around the roof and check each ones field strength. Seems reasonable?

I would guess 90% simplex, but 90% of that would be within 1/4 mile. It would be nice to get some distance when truck drivers crank the squelch on their cb. Maybe I should stay with roof mount.
