Did he say what equipment he was using? Would really like to know the antenna. Has to stand up to some pretty tough conditions.

No the band conditions were not that great and the contact was short, basically call exchange and locations.
Nice one. My neighbor was trying to work someone on the south pole a couple of years ago. I don't know that he ever did.
