Hi all,
I was thinking about receiver selectivity last night while falling asleep (i can't be the only one who does this) and an idea came to me that made me say 'huh'.
I suppose i will end up trying this regardless of whether or not anyone else already has, but it would be nice to know if this has been done before.
The idea is for the Uniden 8719 chassis, and so far, will be tried in a dual conversion type (148/2000/grant/madison).
I would like to try replacing FT2 (7.8mhz IF crystal filter) with a crystal lattice filter like FT3, or a 7.8 crystal filter from an old 858 chassis or something similar.
to my mind, this would give a much sharper 'skirt' and increase selectivity by a noticeable amount.
what say all of you?
LC
