On this site I have read 9 pages on EddieC Wolf Point 64 Omni antenna..but one of the people said he was not making any 11 meter antennas any more.. only ham antennas. I sent him emails several times but never got any response..so..I guess its true! Since I can not get the wolf .64 antenna..how does the Cushcraft ar-10 measure up..to be used on 11 meter band? I've always liked the old ringo antenna(had one long ago) and aluminum(in my opinion)is the only way to go..vrs any fiberglass out there. Thanks for your opinions!

I read nothing but good things in the past about the Wolf antennas, but like a lot of builders, they are gone or lost interest.
Years ago I had a Cushcraft AR-11 4ft above a horizontal 4 element Wilson beam. This setup worked great, the beam for skip and the Ringo for locals. I later changed to a Avanti Moonraker IV (shows how long ago that was), sold the Ringo and beam, went with a Avanti Sigma II on the other side of the house, still have that antenna today.
The new Cushcraft AR-10 will stretch out to 11m. If you are after an antenna not requiring a ground plane , look at the Sirio brand.

Thanks for the info MDYoungblood! Back then I pointed the house at them with the PDL and used the Ringo for monitor and Locals.

Straightshooter, I agree with Shockwave.

IMO, this type of end-fed 1/2 wave (EFHW) tends to produce Common Mode Currents (CMC). I'm not sure if the lack of radials, in this case, solves the problem however.

Below I tried using radials and I basically did not like the results. I also did not understand why.

I have a old model of my Wolf .50_11m, and I will see if it shows CMC's with and without radials. So maybe we can get a little better idea for this issue and maybe be able to better visualize such results.

I'm surprised that you don't have the feedline fastened to the mast at the level of the radials. Seems like that would help decouple it.

WECSOG, you make some good points.

You're right, it may have been better as you suggest. You're watching close and that is good.

I had a radial hub from an A99 GPK that fit my mast. My mast went up inside this mount, so my hub would not fit the antenna mount, else I would have put it as high up as I could get it.

I might also include this idea in my Eznec model, that I plan to post soon.

Thank you for the comments.
