I came across this video where the v12 tube is a 12AT7 and was replaced with a 12AX7. He was able to get more peak power out of the radio, but I was thinking that this would allow me to turn the MIC gain down to increase the headroom? What do you guys think?

I personally think it makes them sound fuzzy around the edges when you do that.
My sonar sounds great with an amplified d104 straight into the radio, it sounds even better with a stock one through a Demco.
( that seems to be the general consensus on how to run a sonar)

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
