Gotta get someone to do a YT vid showing the difference between a Japanese-made "cradle" relay like this one, and the american-made parts that look just the same.
Just one problem. The center row of pins are assigned differently. Even if you find one made in the USA or Mexico with pins that line up perfectly with the holes in the circuit board, it won't just drop in and work.
Best I remember it's a 4-pole double-throw relay with a 12-Volt DC coil. Back in the day, that type relay was built with two kinds of pin. Either a flat one with a tiny hole meant for a socket or a wire, or a skinnier one with a pointy end. Those are meant for insertion into a circuit board.
The relays with the pc-board pins have become frightfully rare the last few years.
You could take a different 4-pole 12-Volt relay and solder a wire to each of the 14 pins, and haywire each wire to the circuit-board hole where it goes.
Emphasis on "haywire". At least there is room in a base station to do such a thing. A mobile radio like this one with a bad relay is just tough luck. Would never fit.
